Amy E. Mitchell is a sole practitioner based in Austin, Texas, who practices entertainment law with a focus on emerging bands.

Amy earned her B.A. in Spanish and Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999 and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2004. During law school, she attended the University College London in London, England, to study international and comparative law. Amy served as a staff editor of the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal and the Texas Review of Entertainment and Sports Law. Amy served as President of Women's Law Caucus, Vice President of the Intellectual Property Law Society, and a Teaching Quizmaster.

Prior to attending law school, Amy served as Office Manager of the Texas Music Office, a state agency within the Texas Governor's Office. Amy was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2004 and is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, an honorary society of lawyers who are among the best trained lawyers in Texas. She writes frequently on entertainment law topics and serves on the board of Texas Folklife, a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and presenting Texas's diverse cultures and living heritage.  In May 2007, Amy joined Christian L. Castle, Attorneys to focus on music industry talent representation, online retailers, as well as digital distribution and content licensing. In June 2009, Amy was elected to serve on the Council of the State Bar of Texas Entertainment and Sports Law Section.

When she is not practicing law, Amy performs as a vocalist and keyboardist in several Austin ensembles, including Conspirare, Framing Strangers, and The Bar & Grill Singers. She has also performed and/or recorded with numerous bands including Will Taylor's Strings Attached, Til We're Blue or Destroy, Spain Coloured Orange, Golden Bear, The Unbearables, Youngmond Grand, Radar Radar, All Hail, and Brothers & Sisters.
